The Ark of Noah
A Scientific Analysis Ref: GENESIS
Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me;
for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold,
I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark,
and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Genesis 6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:
The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits,
the breadth of it fifty cubits, and
the height of it thirty cubits.
According to instruction of GOD, Noah, probably,
with the help of his sons, set out to construct the Ark

Noah inspects the nearly completed work of the Ark of gopher wood.
Genesis 6:16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above;
and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof;
with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

And so a single window was finished above, measuring one cubit, the
length of Noah's arm.
One often wonders, using only our simple thoughts of the modern age:
Why would God have Noah construct a window measuring only
one cubit, the length of Noah's arm?
Why would God have Noah construct the window all the way
at the top of the Ark?
The ARK measured 300 cubits, nearly a tenth of a mile in length!
A window of this size certainly would not have been sufficient
to provide lighting for Noah, his family and all of the animals!
But, remember, our thoughts are not the thoughts of God.
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
saith the LORD.
And a cubit measurement would have been all that was needed in order for
Noah to have a complete panoramic view from above all around.
And one door was set in the side, with access to lower, second and third stories.
Noah, a master ship builder and a skilled craftsman, had a way with wood.
He carried out God's command and constructed the Ark of gopher wood.
Modern scientific analysis assures this vessel would have had the rigidity and
elastic flexibility to bend and sway with the mighty waves of the global flood.
Genesis 7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Genesis 7:20
Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail;
and the mountains were covered.
All the other vessels that were afloat on the surface of the earth at that time,
not constructed with the divine instructions given to Noah, would have certainly
cracked up and would have broken apart under the vast levels of stress and strain
of the giant waves of the global flood.

Genesis 6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:
The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits,
the breadth of it fifty cubits, and
the height of it thirty cubits.

Noah standing next to his completed work
300 x 50 x 30 = 450,000 cubes of a cubit = 1,518,000 cubic feet
which is the volume contained in 569 modern railroad cars!
Genesis 6:16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above;
and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof;
with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
Noah carried out God's command and constructed the Ark of gopher wood.
Noah did finish a window in a cubit , only the width of his arm, and finished it above.

Noah set a door in the side of the ark, with lower, second, and third stories
but, Noah's work was not yet completed.

The Ark had to be made durable and water tight.
Not a drop of water was to seep through the walls of the Ark of gopher wood.
Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark,
and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

Noah pitched the Ark from within and from without as God instructed him in Genesis 6:14.
The Finished Work of the Ark
at nearly 100 years after the start of construction

Noah did complete the work of God's commandment according to Genesis 6:16.
The completed work of Noah, that he began on his 500th birthday,
sat on the ground for many years before the food waters came
on Noah's 600th birthday.
There is no indication according to the Bible that
the DOOR of the Ark was shut during this time.
Thus, any could have entered the Ark.
Genesis 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Genesis 7:7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

It is extremely IMPORTANT to note the significance if this verse:
Genesis 7:7
"And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives
with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood."
It is important to note that Noah and ALL of his family went into the Ark first
before any of the animals went in. Noah, according to this verse, did not have
to go and round up the animals and load them into the Ark!
Very IMPORTANT!
Genesis 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
Very IMPORTANT here again, in the verse Genesis 7:15 "And they went in unto Noah into the ark, ..."
Noah and all of his family were already inside of the Ark when the animals came.
The animals came unto Noah into the Ark!!!
For this reason the Holy Bible can not be read
like a novel or a book of poems!

Genesis 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh,
as God had commanded him:
They went unto Noah into the Ark!!!
Recall that Noah and all of his family
were already inside of the Ark when the animals came.

and the LORD shut him in. (Genesis 7:16)
According to scriptures, the DOOR of the Ark was shut, not by a command of the inhabitants of the Ark and not even by Noah, the builder and captain of the Ark. The BIBLE suggests no warning was given. No signals or a "DOOR CLOSING!" warning was given. Once this DOOR was commanded "SHUT", no hand or foot, nor any obstacle from anyone inside or outside, not even Noah, could have obstructed the closing of this DOOR.
Genesis 7:10
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood
were upon the earth.

Genesis 7:11
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth
day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep
broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Genesis 7:12
And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 7:13
In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth,
the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons
with them, into the ark;
Genesis 7:14
They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind,
and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind,
and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

Very IMPORTANT here again, Noah would not have had the time to go out
and round up all of the animals!!!
As In the selfsame day (Genesis 7:13) they came unto Noah into the Ark!!! Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
The boarding of the Ark by Noah and his family, the loading of the animals on board the Ark, the breaking up of "the fountains of the great deep" and the opening of "the windows of heaven" all took place on
"the selfsame day".
Modern geological and archeological evidence has been and continues to be mounted as seen in the rapidly deposited fossilized remains found globally. Research includes evidence of quickly buried antediluvian villages in various parts of the globe, containing scattered remains of Pleistocene animals.

Water Vapor Earth of Genesis 1:6
Genesis 1:6
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters,
and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Genesis 1:7
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters
which were under the firmament from the waters
which were above the firmament: and it was so.
The water vapor canopy above the Firmament
mentioned in Genesis 1:7
did collapse, bringing about the global food of Noah.
Earth Globally Flooded
on Noah's 600th birthday
Genesis 7:19
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Genesis 7:20
Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail;
and the mountains were covered.
At the End of the Flood
Genesis 8:2
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven
were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
Genesis 8:3
And the waters returned from off the earth continually:
and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
Genesis 8:4
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month,
upon the mountains of Ararat.
It is very important for a GOOD scholarly BIBLE student to KNOW that the Bible did not say that Noah's Ark landed on Mount Ararat in Turkey. {There is no solid scientific evidence for this statement!}
The correct translation of Genesis 8:4 should have read:
"And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the Urartian mountains {plural}."
There are hundreds of mountains of Urartu.
Genesis 8:5
And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains {plural} seen.
